  • Is there any corroboration of this story? I looked at the Toshiba site, got to this page on their nuclear energy products: http://www.toshiba.co.jp/nuclearenergy/english/index.htm

    You would think they would mention a miraculous micro reactor, especially if they are rolling it out in Japan this year. They don’t.

    For the future, this is what Toshiba envisions (from this link):

    Future Reactors and Plants
    As an innovator in reactor design and development, Toshiba promotes the evolution to new reactors like the ABWR-II. Based on today’s most advanced BWR (ABWR), this next generation reactor will offer higher economic competitiveness and be safer and more reliable.

    -> Next Generation BWR Plant (ABWR-II)
    -> Advanced Reactor (SCPR, LSBWR)
    -> Fusion Reactor
    -> Fast Breeder Reactor (FBR)

    The ABWR is an advanced boiling water reactor. Here’s a picture. Looks pretty big.

    Perhaps I’m missing out on the micro reactor information which is only written in Japanese in the Nihongo section of the website. Maybe they’re trying to keep us English speakers in the dark. Before we speculate further, someone corroborate the story!

    Thanks! That’s great!

    So it looks like the two things we need are:

    1) A promotional video (the only thing we have currently as far as video is concerned is the google video. Nothing short, sweet and promotional. This is something we could use some help with).

    2) A list of advertisers to add to our site? Not sure I understood the second thing:

    Another way would be to donate a certain percentage of ad sales, attributable to companies or individuals visiting focusfusion.org from our website.

    Please clarify. Thanks!

    in reply to: How can I give memberships as gifts? #2477

    Hi Steve,

    I know I replied to this question by email, but should put this here in the forum as well.

    For now, when you’re going through the paypal subscription process, there is a place to write a note to us. Use this to let us know it’s a gift and who it’s for. Don’t forget to put in their correct email address.

    A follow up email wouldn’t hurt.

    in reply to: Set up a holding company #2471

    Interesting site! Thanks for pointing it out! We will look into it.

    I don’t think the intrastate exemption applies, though:

    Section 3(a)(11) of the Securities Act of 1933 is generally known as the “intrastate offering exemption.” It exempts from registration any security which is part of an issue offered and sold only to residents of a single state or territory by an issuer that is both a resident of and doing business within that state or territory.

    Unless we keep it limited to people in New Jersey.

    Gift subscriptions: The simplest way is to just put a note in your paypal subscription saying this is meant as a gift and tell us who it’s for and add their email address. We will then make a note of it on our side and include the person in the mailing list, and inform them (and you). We use paypal, so if you know of any other more sophisticated tools they have for gifting, let us know!

    About that milliondollarwebtv.com link. I couldn’t tell from the site how it works. Do you just purchase a few pixels on their home page? What draws people to their home page? Specifically people searching for fusion?

    Thanks (obligado?) for your efforts! Keep it up. I’m still thinking about how to organize the database for multiple languages. At some point we’ll incorporate it into the website proper.

    Do you mean to ask “what are the main problems in the development…?”

    yes, Werstyle. I’m going to delete those other posts of yours, too. Good luck with your quest.

    Wonderful! I’ve uploaded the animations on the home page and the proton-boron page. Great job!

    Note to King Kong, your post in this category has been moved to: https://focusfusion.org/index.php/forums/viewthread/88/
    and explains how the forum works a bit.

    And the initial post you enquired about is here: https://focusfusion.org/index.php/forums/viewthread/75/

    in reply to: Where did my post go? #2065

    No, we didn’t delete your post. But we have moved this one away from “x-ray cooling” to tech support. Thanks for the question!

    I suspect not everyone knows how many cool features this forum has. One needs to explore : )

    AaronB wrote: Can I get a smaller yellow peace sign (4 inch diameter) on the front-left breast of the black shirt? If so, I’ll place my order. Thanks.

    OK, take a look at this: http://www.cafepress.com/focusfusion.91932229 It’s a 4 inch image, but the circle is smaller than 4″ diameter. Maybe I should scale up to 6 inches (the standard they suggest). Also, as mentioned, it looks funny on black. A little white square.

    Aside from that, the Black t-s are up. Check it out: http://www.cafepress.com/focusfusion/2201904 Again, the small ones are 4″, but they can be smaller, or bigger, up to 6″.

    It’s as if there’s an infinite number of options here. Also, do we need a design on the back of these black T-shirts, because we don’t have art for that.

    in reply to: T-shirt designers unite and take over #2050

    Glenn! The hordes are restless for their black T-shirt design. Upload/fire when ready.

    David, the link you put goes to a shirt that has a long vertical rectangle design, but that is the design itself. Our designs are all squares, so it will only be a square that covers/is centered in the whole shirt or a square in the pocket.

    At some point we could use a design that’s a wide rectangle. This would come in handy for bumper stickers, too. It being the holidays, I don’t know if anyone has time to whip such a design like that up right now.

    in reply to: T-shirt designers unite and take over #2045

    Dude, you are high maintenance. Which black shirt? (find the one you want on cafepress and copy the url. There are short sleeve, long sleeve, etc.) And the yellow peace sign isn’t designed for black, so it will be in a white square, you realize. But we can, in fact, put the same design in the pocket location with no problem.
