Why is X-ray cooling a problem in the plasma focus device and not in other fusion experiments as the tokomak?
It’s that we are using a different fuel–hydrogen-boron, not Deuterium-tritium. X-ray emission is proportional to the square of the atomic charge, so boron, with 5 charges causes 25 times as much x-ray radiation as D or T with one charge each.
