    Somebody got cosmology wrong again.
Here is a quote from the infamous internet information source:
“The core is the only location in the Sun that produces an appreciable amount of heat via fusion: the rest of the star is heated by energy that is transferred outward from the core”

Lets talk about a path of least resistance.
If the insulator between the layers provides less resistance than the circuit itself,
then the probability that the electron will jump the insulator and recombine instead of going trough the circuit is higher.
Grounding one layer does not solve the problem. This results in the statistical number of holes in the plate equal to the number of holes in the ground. The potential between the plates stays the same.
Do you think there are initially no holes in the ground? Well then you just added them, and now they can recombine electrons. I am not sure how this will affect recombination, I just guess you will have a higher place for recombination (the whole earth), and when that happens ( a lightning strikes somewhere) – no more electricity for you!

Ok now if you don’t want any dielectric between the layers, this means you want a conductor there, as these are mutually exclusive.
This means the layers are connected and have the same potential, which means there are no current running between them.
This makes no sense in electricity generation.

The only thing here that makes sense is choosing the right thickness, size and configuration of plates and the dialectic material. The result will be that it will operate as a Condensation that is charged by generated X-Ray. I have some ideas what kind of configuration you might want to use to reduce the recombination, but I wont tell anyone until I am hired as an Scientist in FF team 😀

Insulation is required so that the electrons would not recombine with the holes where they originated.

You should really learn something about cosmology.
Neutron stars do not become supernova (they just sit there) – they are result of supernova formation.

    Are you trolling or what?

Fusion in plasma was achieved long time ago
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusor

Now its time to make it profitable.

Neutron star does not shine, because it is made of neutrons.
It might give off some radiation (i don’t know), but nothing living beings made of organics would like to receive,
well maybe except some radiation friendly fungus.
Also its gravity is extremely string at small distances (like a normal big star).

Religion can also be a cause for war. I did not believe there are fundamental Christians until I saw some video of their boot camp on you-tube.
I just hope as many people as possible will convert to atheism, or we might have yet another “Holy” war…

Well this is what Moller is promising. And with DARPA Grand Challenge success
    http://www.darpa.mil/grandchallenge/index.asp
we can hope it will be achieved someday.
PS:Planes are still legal somehow even after 9/11…

Sky parking lots 😉 . I am sure the problems will be solved when we get there… or not.

    Nobody is noticing my point:

0 infrastructure + great speed + individual freedom
Even the claimed energy usage is reasonable.
For urban and suburban transportation, nothing should beat a SkyCar.

Need something big moved, like 1000 tons of coal? Then trains are good I agree…

Still using open-source design process, simple materials, local resources, advanced nano-technologies with cheap and plentiful energy might retire the old
mine-move-process-move-manufacture-move-sell-move model. Just download the design and turn on your 3d printer.
What other resources you might need if you have access to sea water and plenty of cheap energy?

I don’t believe having a working prototype is enough.
If there is no solid theoretical framework to explain it there will be no support from other scientists – no serious scientist wants to investigate a “Perpetual mobile”, even if it has fusion attached to it.
And if the scientific community will not be interested, then the public, government and serious investors will not be as well.
Imagine having a working prototype and no funding, no interest and no legislative support.

And many things can happen until 2013 – what about the buss factor for this project?
How many people have to be hit by a bus now for it to fail? Is it more than 1?

I am happy there are other alternative approaches to fusion power being investigated even now, and if at least one of them succeeds then the other ones have a better chance as well.

One problem with the error page
    https://focusfusion.org/index.php/site/404/
is that it seems not to provide the 404 error status to browser.
So looking for broken links using some software like
    http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html
    is harder.

I am sure if energy, resources, and commodities become 10x cheaper due to FF we will see flying cars in a decade or two – no more rails and no more roads.
