Just a small idea :
I guess you know how the HTML validator buttons work on a web page … how about figuring out your own “Focus Fusion contributor ” validator like functionality – e.g. if one has already paid yearly membership or donated … his personal openId ( Google , facebook ) could be verivied as a “donator” against your let say simply php web service …
According to this document
http://www.thorea.org/publications/ThoreaReportFinal.pdf
a reliable and cheap source of neutrons would be needed …. Even if Focus Fusion is price competitive the business oportunity from the disposal of nuclear waste should not be underestimated …
The thread here is the eyebrows raising of the established business … although one also argue that this is more oportunity than a thread …
Next Big Future reported about Room Temperature Superconductivity :
http://nextbigfuture.com/2011/03/evidence-of-superconductivity-near-20.html
I recall that Outokumpu was developing superconductors for ITER with VTT here in Finland:
http://virtual.vtt.fi/virtual/proj4/fusionprogram/development.htm
Anyway would superconductivity ( if affordable ) add benefits to your equipment …
All these will increase competition … even if the largest portions of the claims would not materialize into useful energy production … I do believe that the energy field is now where the IT was in the late 80’s – e.g. the big inventions and the Internet are ahead …
So:
– price
– scalability
– speed to market
– productivity
– reliability
Thus FF has great potential even all LENR claims turn out to be true … At the end what matters is to get the big oil and dirty coal realize that by using their old technology they will die in the new order …
How does this relate to the findings of LPP ?! To my humble understandings this seems to differentiate to the predictions of LPP’s models ?! As whole how does this correlate to the current findings of LPP ?
Focus Fusion success by 2020:
– total superiority by price , quality , safety , scalability , manageability etc. features in energy production compared to fossil fuels
– over 50% market share in global energy markets
– disruptive (price) pressure to national governments to create a global energy grid
– global economic growth accelerator by lowering energy prices, solving eco problems ( water desalination )
– war conflicts killer – ( all wars – even religion and ethnic are actually based on resources scarcity, which could be eliminated by a cheap energy source )
– space travel revolution begin ( VASIMR etc. )
– transportation revolution – new type of (larger) vehicles
– all the thinks we cannot even imagine now …
I’ve made some attempts to attract attention to the Project here in Norway and Sweden.
Do you have any contacts in Finland ?!
If politics would have agreed on a global tax of 1 cent per barrel since the 50’s now we would have been driving flying cars … etc. because of fusion … The truth is that the big money does not want it … yet , since it is too cheap and it endangers their existing billions size investments.
Fusion WILL be the way … simply because it is so incredibly dense source of energy.
The rest is engineering … and engineers are pretty good once the dollars are in place …
I agree that for wikipedia at least:
Focus Fusion is the method or the approach towards achieving net gain by fusion
Eric Lerner – is the leader for this approach
Lawrenceville Plasma Physics, Inc – is the company used as the organizational body for this method
Focus Fusion Society is the charity organization ensuring that this approach will be available to all mankind
I think that a simple power point in YouTube with the major facts with the following key points:
– the future potential of FF
– why FF is much better than everything else available
– current status
– real presentation of risks
– what has been done
– what the reader could do to help promote FF
– where to find more info
will make a major impact.
Don’t get me wrong – this site is wonderful, yet there must be a simple selling point , REMEMBER AIDA
