Datetopia – do you plan to contribute/invest the profits from your software sales in focus fusion?
:ahhh: I did and left a comment with a link to EL’s Google video.
I agree. Fundable.org is just one option, but it’s available and has a good reputation. It might be good for smaller “bottom up” fundraising projects, like the $2,000 equipment LPP needs.
There is a progress bar / information on fundable.org. Also, pledges are promptly refunded if the goal is not met. We could start using it for small projects, like that $2,000 equipment LPP needs (if it still needs it). I could set it up on fundable.org and seed it, with say $20, if I knew another 100 people from the membership would also step up.
This no longer has anything to do with a holding company…should we start another thread?
There is a web service / site that works the way you describe:
It’s all set up to handle pledges (actually pre-payments), which are returned if the goal is not met. However, we’d need to discuss this with John Pratt, one of the principals of the site, as the amount to be raised is way beyond of what they normally handle.
I meant “pricing in risks and profits” into the credits. In this case the profit for the credit purchasers could also be lower energy price. What kind of legal and financial framework is there to make credits work?
If I understand Eric Lerner’s lecture at Google correctly, focus fusion will provide energy at $60/kW vs. $1,000/kW. That leaves a LOT of “wiggle room” for pricing in risks and profits even at 70% of the going energy price.
How about pegging the credits at, say, 70% of the current going energy price?
How would the energy credits be priced and their value maintained?
Thank you!
Yes, we’ll give free advertising space to Focus Fusion.
The site went live in July 2007:
1. We could create a short – and hopefully sweet:) – promotional piece from the Google video. We’d also need a a small image, possibly the society’s logo or something more exciting to place on the home station page, that would link to the video.
2. The advertisers would be on our site. Here is a scenario:
– Visitor interested in new energy sources / fusion / “green tech” / science sees FFS ad, goes to FFS/PLL sites
– Visitor becomes advertiser, to take advantage of affinity marketing opportunity, if they are in these fields
– We ascertain advertiser originally visited FFS from our site, forward 20% of sales to FFS
– We acquire more fusion related traffic, in proportion to the growing number of new energy sources / fusion / “green tech” / science ads
Some of PLL’s current and potential vendors, investment houses, even individuals might also be interested advertising for themselves and to support FFS/PLL.
Trust this makes sense.
Thank you again, I will do the subscriptions for the holidays (Hanukkah) and will follow up with emails.
I think you can find enough people in New Jersey to invest, so this could be a viable option.
Thank you for the advice about the gift subscriptions!
Milliondollarwebtv.com is my site. It works by people uploading an ad image and video, which are placed on the home page, after payment is verified. In our case, you’d just email me the image and video and I’d put them up free. The idea is to introduce visitors to FFO/LPP. You can see how that works, at:
http://www.milliondollarwebtv.com/About.php
Trust this helps.
P.S. If your question is also about how the site works for advertisers (in the fusion field): We’ll spend between 10-25% of sales from these advertisers to acquire traffic specific to them.
You might be able to utilize a relatively unknown SEC exemption, called “Intrastate Offering Exemption.” Costs are minimal. Here is a link to a company, offering this type of financial service:

and an article from Inc. magazine:

Trust this helps … I’m also waiting for answers to my postings under Marketing/Fundraising:
1. How can I give memberships as gifts?
2. Donating advertising space on MillionDollarWebTV.com; Fundraising through MillionDollarWebTV.com
