    Summary
    The Web Development Intern assists the Website Team by contributing to a wide range of projects including WordPress website optimization, stabilization and enhancement.

    The Fusion Focus Society is an amazing not for profit organization that is pioneering the advancement of a technological revolution. It is governed under 501(c)(3), as an organization that is working for education and science. We are a grassroots campaigning and educational organization, fighting to bring cheap, clean and plentiful energy from ultra high temperature fusion fusion to all.

    Qualifications
    Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary school, adult education, college (no master’s level) or certificate/training program OR a graduate from one of these schools within 6 months post-graduation.
    Possess sufficient personal ability to perform work duties.
    A burning passion for Fusion Energy and Web Software Development.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    WordPress website enhancements and optimization (desktop and mobile versions) according to supervisor approved requests by members and teams.
    WordPress website stabilization.
    WordPress Plugin installation, customization and development.
    Improvement of integration with social platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, according to marketing team requirements.

    Other IT activities:
    Basic server administration from installing updates to assisting with server outages.
    Fixing bugs and adding features to open source and proprietary codebase.

    Skills

    Proficiency in technical web development tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP)
    Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress)
    Experience using MySQL or other SQL skills preferred
    Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server administration preferred
    Excellent problem solving skills required
    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required
    Work independently as well as in partnership with a team

    Time Commitment

    Up to Six-month, unpaid internship; 16 – 24 hours per week.

    Conditions of Employment
    Must be legally allowed to work remotely for the United States non-profit.
    Must successfully pass pre-employment background check.
    Must agree to and sign Focus Fusion Society Intern’s Employment Agreement.
