It is governed under 501(c)(3), as an organization that is working for education and science. We are a grassroots campaigning and educational organization, fighting to bring cheap, clean and plentiful energy from ultra-high-temperature fusion to all.

    Job Description

    We are looking for a Linux Administrator who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, taking ownership of every problem in your area of expertise, and will be solving or delegating them accordingly.

    Responsibilities

    – Help tune performance and ensure high availability of existing infrastructure
    – Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
    – Develop and maintain configuration management solutions
    – Develop test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the team
    – Create tools to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure
    – Follow and keep up to date written company documentation and policies
    – Keep a well-maintained system manual and operations log
    – Provide suggestions for improving, upgrading or reworking systems in or near your area of expertise to ensure better experience for the end users

    Required Skills

    – Experience with Linux Ubuntu servers in virtualized environments
    – Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
    – Knowledge of SSH use and configuration
    – Experience installing, configuring and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, Nginx, etc.
    – Experience with hosting and configuring a WordPress CMS

    Optional Skills

    – Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Salt, Puppet, and Chef
    – Familiarity with source control tools such as git
    – Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
    – Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS or HAProxy, etc.
    – Experience with PHP programming language
    – Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Xen or VMWare
    – Experience with setting up or maintaining an organization wiki system, slack, gsuite and other tools
