Federal clean fusion R&D.
Federal and state clean / renewable energy tax policy.
Clean fusion clusters (NJ and NM?) and other economic development.
Cleaning up nuclear waste.
Space propulsion / NASA applications.
Military use. (Air Force and Navy are both funding aneutronic fusion research.)
There’s enough here I think, Rezwan, for you and FFS to put together a policy group, chaired by you, from interested members, including FfS Board members.
The first step would probably be to come up with a policy platform involving these six areas of policy and any others — and then come up with goals and a strategy and a plan for educating and lobbying policymakers.
What do you all think?
I’d recommend calling it the Clean Fusion Policy Group of FFS. The term “clean fusion” will be key for a lot of policymakers, so I’d put the term out front.
