These people have apparently built working prototypes of an updated
Farnsworth fuser. But – what is interesting is that they developed
a process that ‘tunes’ the incoming ion streams. If I understand
this correctly – it allows only the highly charged particles to come
through and ‘dramatically lower the losses of energetic ions that
limit the efficiency of traditional designs’.
Even if their fusor does not reach net energy, their MARBLE
could be incorporated into the work of others.
