I’m wondering how the beryllium electrode will be cooled for more continuous operation. Will thermoelectric cooling help? In this scheme, I assume the heat would be carried away by the thermoelectric cooler between electron injection pulses.

I think some type of highly conductive material that radiates heat quickly might help solve that problem. Maybe graphene or carbon nanotubes.
How hot do those electrodes get?
