Chuctanunda: I know that we have been lucky so far and have managed to avoid a huge population starvation catastrophe on a global scale. But, eventually this is going to happen. Its not a matter of “if it will happen”, its just a matter of “when it will happen”. The planet is hopelessly overstocked with humans and resources are fast running out. One of the major resources will soon run out I am sure. This will result in wars which will be the beginning of the end for humans. The next big world war should cause the death of 98% of all humans. Even if we do manage to create a new form of fusion energy, other resources like fertilizer will run out fairly soon anyway. Thus, this new form of energy will do us no good.

Note – Life expectancy depends 99% on diet. It has nothing to do with population size.
