What we need to do is to make the reality of the new–focus fusion–credible. Then we will have devoted supporters in all those who “would profit by the new order” which is the vast majority of humanity.

I’ve come to appreciate the original sequence you laid out (as I understand it). That is:
1) Proof of concept (current experiments)
2) Prototype refinement and design (3-yr engineering effort)
3) Offering manufacturing licenses world-wide at affordable prices.
I think this simple sequence is unstoppable, if each step is actually accomplished. Publicity and support and yadda-yadda will be superfluous. The economics will provide all. Consider the position of any power supplier, user, or country on finding that a competitor has undertaken to cut their power costs by 95%. The rush to avoid being left WAY behind will be immediate and vigorous.
