    Just to play Devil’s advocate, there is a lot (and I mean a LOT) of money “sitting on the fence”, waiting to see whether it should be invested in coal or other technologies. Coal is (currently) the cheapest, most profitable way to generate power. If the government steps in to change that, more money will flow into the alternatives.

    I have yet to personally meet even 1 person who could comprehend the difference between DPF and a tokamak. I might as well try to raise money for frumjoogles.

    Would this be based on scintillation?

    This article mentions:

    For material thicknesses of 5 mm, for both NaI and CsI, the detection efficiency between 20-100 keV is essentially unity.

    Would the high flux break down the scintillator? Megawatt(s) per square meter is pretty, uh, “bright”.
