LLNL "close" to ignition

A local television station toured the National Ignition Facility and managed to get a few words from Ed Moses:

He appears to be expecting ignition within “the next few months”, and thinks LLNL will be the first to achieve it. A working reactor, on the other hand, is still “decades away”, according to the news reporter.

If they do achieve ignition, I guarantee that investors will be reexamining fusion as an actual possibility. It will be a really important time to get real media attention to LPPX’s situation. It will probably be the last opportunity to inform the public about fusion’s progress until someone achieves break-even.
