Although I doubt if this will pose too much of a problem, I was wondering how much some of the alpha particles might spread out and if that would pose much of a problem with electric power conversion. However, by observations of quasars in deep space, it does not look like it will be too much of a problem. Most of the beam emission from quasars is very narrow and does not scatter too much. In the FF device, there may be a much less dense ” beam halo ” around the main beam, but that’s probably about it. But just in the event that too many alpha particles miss the deaccelerator power converter, I was wondering how practical would it be to have some kind of correcting magnetic lens that would bend and refocus the alpha particles into a tighter beam ?
