Finding inspiration in the X PRIZE® Award

Why does the “X" PRIZE Foundation inspire us so? 

• They have demonstrated that prizes stimulate innovation;
• Innovation has an element of chance, which can be leveraged;
• We feel that the fusion industry would take off if there were a similar prize for fusion. We seek to actively lobby for such a prize, from the “X” PRIZE Foundation and any other foundation willing to put forth a similar prize.

Fusion in Spider Man II

Fusion in the movies typically involves disaster.  The disaster comes either from attempts by evil government/corporate forces to suppress an innovation (e.g., “Chain Reaction”, “The Saint"), or the fusion itself is dangerous and the scientist who makes it is mad, as in Spider-Man II.

The Matrix - Energy Conservation

“The Matrix” movies have an odd take on energy conservation.  Apparently, humans “shut off the sun” by darkening the skies with permanent ink.  So permanent that even after hundreds of years the sun can’t penetrate it.
