Methodology

This section started out being about the Scientific Method. It's going to now be the specific methodology pursued by LPP, with a subcategory on scientific method.

LPP has a hypothesis, and they're not afraid to test it.

Skepticism is a great tool for the advancement of science. At the Focus Fusion Society, we are skeptical of the Tokamak approach and think the LPP device is vastly superior. But we can't know that it is, we can't even guarantee that it works, until LPP conducts their experiments and obtains proof-of-concept. Unfortunately, this sets up a chicken and egg scenario - funding for research at the proof-of-concept stage is hard to come by, since people want to be sure something works before funding it. But you can't prove it works until you try it. So you need the research money (Note: LPP is still short of the money needed to complete the experiments. If you are an investor, you can contact them directly).

What happens to the scientific method in the internet/social media age? LPP has graciously allowed FFS to witness and document their experiments. Most of the documentation will be held in reserve until the experiments are done - at which point they will be turned into a documentary. However, some information will be made available to the general public on an ongoing basis. This makes some people uncomfortable. Here, indeed, is LPP's policy on data release, in light of scientific method considerations. In the meantime, we are fair game for a host of skeptics and welcome the scrutiny.

LPP Experiment:  8 goals and timeline

The LPP crew has accomplished their first technical goal for the experimental program.  The achievement of a pinch means that the machine is doing what they designed it to do, which is to transfer energy into a tiny plasmoid.  Seven goals remain.

LPP’s policy on data release

Lawrenceville Plasma Physics, Inc. (LPP) policy on data release, as stated by Eric Lerner, President:

Now that our Focus-Fusion-1 device is operational, we know that many people who have been following this project will be eagerly awaiting our experimental results. LPP firmly believes that scientific advances occur when results, both positive and negative, are freely shared and discussed throughout the community.

However, it is important to understand that experimental data have to be analyzed, digested and interpreted before they can become meaningful results. This takes time and affects the way that results are released.

Focus Fusion Credibility

Why should I believe the information on this website? There are lots of people out there claiming to know how to get cheap or even free energy. Why is focus fusion different?

Proof of Concept

Yes, but will it work?  Can the Focus Fusion Reactor fulfill on the possibilities suggested in this website?  To answer this question, we need to conduct proof of concept research.

Is Focus Fusion RIGHT?

We keep getting asked if Focus Fusion is right.  While we would like to assure you that it is, we can’t know, until the experiments are done, if the Focus Fusion device will work as theorized.  The only way to prove it either way is with proof-of-concept experiments.

Is This a Scam?

Is Focus Fusion a scam?  By definition, a scam is “a fraudulent business scheme.  A swindle.”  In order for us (FFS & LPP) to be scammers, we would have to know that Focus Fusion doesn’t work, and be diverting all the funds we’re getting into, for example, an untraceable account in the Bahamas.
