Understanding Energy Possibilities at the Focus Fusion Solstice Seminar
The Somerset County Business Partnership will host Understanding Energy Possibilities: The Focus Fusion Solstice Seminar, a presentation focused on how private research start-up Lawrenceville Plasma Physics (LPP) is using innovation to develop an operational method for providing clean, inexhaustible fusion power. LPP has already achieved record relative fusion yields at their “Focus Fusion-1” lab in Middlesex.
The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. at the offices of the Business Partnership, 360 Grove Street at Route 22 east, Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Lead scientist for LLP, Eric Lerner, will outline the challenges associated with development of fusion power. Development Director Derek Shannon will discuss the implications for New Jersey businesses and how state agencies are starting to take note. Executive Director Rezwan Razani of the Focus Fusion Society will describe what a “pro-fusion” and “post-fusion” world might look like.
Pre-registration is recommended and may be accomplished at http://events.SCBP.org or by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
As part of its outreach and education mission, the Focus Fusion Society will stream the event live online from http://www.ustream.tv/user/focusfusion Medi.a and other inquiries should be addressed to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
A light lunch highlighting a diversity of Solstice traditions will be served. So apart some regular food (sandwiches) and Persian Shab-e-Yalda snacks (watermelon, pomegranates), what “Solstice food” do you recommend? Tell us in the comments!
