Two Paths to Fusion

Derek Shannon has put together a fantastic Google Earth fusion tour that flies us out to the ITER site and back to the LPP site. View the tour here: http://pastehtml.com/view/1acb5pr.html - Install the plugin as needed.
The animation brings together maps, images, animation and a great narrative flow to create a sweeping historical spectacle. An excellent way to put things in perspective!
Some notes from Derek:
If you play around with the cursor right around the 3:36 mark, you should be able to get the awesome copper electrodes, same picture as at the bottom of the ICCD link you sent. That is one of the frustrating aspects of the embedded tour, it can be a bit inconsistent—I had lots more cooler stuff that I took out because it had a tendency not to show up even worse. It should definitely play smoothly in GE proper, and of course this is one of the good reasons to get the Pro grant so that a movie would show up exactly every time. For example, I also included Torulf’s tokamak to polywell to DPF video before (since it inspired the Statue of Liberty motif), but couldn’t get it integrated smoothly.
Note that Derek has applied for a pro grant on behalf of FFS. Sounds like more Google Earth videos will be forthcoming.
Thanks again for the great job, Derek!
