Mr. Nkansah-Mahaney received his undergraduate BS degree in Physics (2003) from Georgia Southern University and subsequently received his MS in Physics (2007) at the University of Central Florida. Continuing to remain in academia Mr. Nkansah-Mahaney serves as a Lab Manager for the Physical Science and Chemistry Departments at Fresno City College in California. His experience includes project management and organization, experimental design, systems engineering, materials characterization, machining and wet chemistry laboratory operation.

Interests outside of the Focus Fusion Society and Fresno City College include spacecraft and rocket propulsion, additive manufacturing processes, miniature engineering systems, nanotechnology, and non-polluting energy production. He is also interested in environmentalism through responsible technology design and consumerism as well as efficient resource utilization, recycling and reuse. Mr. Nkansah-Mahaney is also budding entrepreneur providing access to resources for individuals to pursue their own creative and intellectual do-it-yourself ambitions. In his spare time he bakes, bikes, hikes, makes stuff and travels with his wife, Nancy.
