Ijit.

ITER is a giga-boondoggle.

DPF, as used by LPP.com, will be running in garage-size installations by 2015 or 2020. No waste, no steam turbines.

At about 5% of the output cost of tokamaks, and about 1% of the cost/W.

IF it works.  If not, then what?  What’s your backup plan?  This is a proof of concept experiment.  Eliminating other experiments is premature.

And ITER’s not that much money compared to many other things.  We need a subsidy-o-meter or something to show where this falls relative to other things that worked or didn’t work.  Oil and gas subsidies?  War for oil?  On the boondoggle-o-meter, ITER’s not so bad.

Housing and bank bailouts?

ITER may aspire to be a boondoggle, but it has some really stiff competition.
