Focus Fusion Needs a Laptop

I believe all our members know who Rezwan is. She is our President and primary maintainer of the http://focusfusion.org website. But you might not be aware of the difficulties that she has has to overcome when maintaining our community. One of the problems is that her laptop is not usable anymore.
Her present laptop is a Mac Powerbook G4. She purchased it refurbished five years ago, and has been getting a lot of mileage out of it. She’s seen it through 2 hard drive crashes (replacing the post-warranty hard drive herself the second time - the guys at the genius bar aren’t allowed to touch “legacy” computers). The DVR player does not function, the mic doesn’t work (so she can’t talk to her board with skype), and most of the USB ports are not working - we have fears that the whole motherboard is on the verge of collapse. The biggest problem, however, is the ever advancing pace of software. This is a pre-intel machine and some of the new software won’t run on it (can’t get past Firefox 3, lots of Google apps fall flat, etc.). She was thinking of switching to a PC, but some of her favorite, key, go-to software is Mac based (notably Daylite, with all the contact information for the society on it). We’d like to get her a new laptop - or a refurbished upgrade.
Our very secret cabal of board directors has decided that we need to produce a laptop for our President so fusion power can have a future. As a longtime member of the focusfusion website and a recent member of our transitional board I am trying to organize this effort. Please get in touch with me if you have computer hardware available for donation, specifically we would welcome one with Apple MAC OS.
