Awaiting construction permit, more equipment arrives
(2) CommentsParts and equipment continue to arrive on schedule. We are awaiting the construction permit from Middlesex Borough to begin construction of the shielding wall.
We expect the permit either by the end of this week or early next week.
We are continuing to receive parts and equipment on schedule and have received:
- the high voltage distribution unit, that will send power from the power supply to the individual capacitors;
- the inner steel plates that will connect to the electrodes;
- copper filters for the x-ray detectors and
- a magnetometer to check the earth’s magnetic field within the DPF and the field produced by the axial coils.
We have completed the design for the wax-filled box that will allow safe transport of the neutron time-of flight beams and the x-ray beam through the shielding wall. We expect to receive in a day or two a completed design and quotation for the Unistrut structure that will support the DPF.
