This book is a classic in the foundations of plasma physics by one of the founders of the field of Magneto-Hydrodynamics and the only recipient of Nobel Prize for plasma physics. A good addition to a comprehensive library on the subject.

Eric Lerner recommends this edition of this book, co-authored by Falthammar, and laments the lack of availability.  Only 2 copies of this earlier edition are available on Amazon at $150 apiece.

Request it on Google - A few steps

You can also request Google Books to make this available.  A quick search for “Cosmical Electrodynamics” reveals some great titles!  It’s nice to see Eric Lerner’s “BBNH” on the first page.  Unfortunately,  Alfvén’s book is not there.  To get Google to consider it takes a few steps:

1. Visit Google’s info page
2. Click the “I’d like to suggest a book that I want available as a Google eBook” button.
3. Fill in the form that appears:
   • Title:  Cosmical Electrodynamics: Fundamental principles. Second Edition. (The International series of monographs on physics)
   • Authors:  Hannes Alfvén, Carl-Gunne Falthammar
   • Publisher: Clarendon Press; 2nd edition (1963)
   • ISBN:  B0006BLK9I
4. Click “Submit”
